On hand today were Ron and Al Jenkins, Roger Bennatti, Dave Ouellet, Wes Kauppila, Austin Westfield, Alex Fogg, and Dick Glueck.
Alex and Dick emptied one end of the center container, moving the windows and doors into the first red container. Joel Ackerman gifted us with a good supply of lumber from which Ron will construct work benches in the center box. That will become a shop space for working on specific pieces.
Ron, Roger, Al, Dave, and later Alex worked on removing the valve gear, marking the parts as needed and placing the pieces on a pallet. Dave cleaned them to a degree. The pins are remarkably shiny and unblemished, attesting to the tight fit and greasing they received. One pin remains problematic, but will get loosened during the coming week.
Austin and Wes loosened most of the sand dome, but ran into a snagged which will require Leverett's instructions. They switched to loosening superheater pipes inside the manifold. This is a particularly difficult job, given the location and tight quarters. Six of the unit nuts were successfully loosened.
Clayton Nowell and Ron Jenkins have hard installed an air system down the lengths of the blue containers. This is beautiful work and will serve us well over the coming years.
